(EN)The priest's daughter
Composed and written in 1912 by the abbot Jean Taillères, from the diocese of Auch. A truly unknown author of the Gascon literary heritage. We have the great pleasure and honour of being the first to bring him to light! From the collection of poems "passejade amourouse" (Love Walk)
Although in terms of finesse, this text is not a model, we appreciate the effort made by the author to keep the verses in hexasyllables and in continuous rhyme.

La fille du curé
La fille du curé
Au bois s’en allait
Elle rencontra Bernard
Celui qui est dégarni
« Bonjour ma jolie,
Où vas-tu toute seule ? »
« Je m’en vais cueillir des figues
Pour mes amies. »
Au diable donc le fruit
Et sans faire trop de bruit
Ils s’en allèrent derrière le chêne
Oh la doundéne, oh la doundou…
La fille du curé
Au bois s’en allait
Elle rencontra Jeannot
Celui qui a un grand barreau
« Bonjour ma jolie,
Où vas-tu toute seule ? »
« Je m’en vais cueillir des poires
Pour l’abbé dit : Taillères. »
Au diable donc le fruit
Et sans faire trop de bruit
Ils s’en allèrent derrière le chêne
Oh la doundéne, oh la doundou…
La fille du curé
Au bois s’en allait
Elle rencontra « petit doigt »
Celui qui est maladroit
« Bonjour ma jolie,
Où vas-tu toute seule ? »
« Je m’en vais cueillir la prune
Cette nuit au clair de lune. »
Au diable donc le fruit
Et sans faire trop de bruit
Ils s’en allèrent derrière le chêne
Oh la doundéne, oh la doundou…
La fille du curé
Au bois s’en allait
Elle rencontra Michel
Celui qui a un joli chapeau
« Bonjour ma jolie,
Où vas-tu toute seule ? »
« Je m’en vais cueillir des cerises
Et enlève moi la chemise ! »
Au diable donc le fruit
Et sans faire trop de bruit
Ils s’en allèrent derrière le chêne
Oh la doundéne, oh la doundou…

The priest's daughter
To the wood was going
She met Bernard
The one who is bald
"Hello my pretty one,
Where are you going by yourself? "
"I'm going to pick figs
For my friends. "
To hell with the fruit
And without making too much noise
They went behind the oak tree
Oh la doundéne, oh la doundou...
The priest's daughter
To the wood was going
She met Jeannot
The one with the big bar
"Hello my pretty one,
Where are you going by yourself? "
"I'm going to pick pears
For the abbot Taillères. "
To hell with the fruit
And without making too much noise
They went behind the oak tree
Oh la doundéne, oh la doundou...
The priest's daughter
To the wood was going
She met "little finger"
The clumsy one
"Hello, my pretty one,
Where are you going by yourself? "
"I'm going to pick the plum
Tonight in the moonlight. "
To hell with the fruit
And without making too much noise
They went behind the oak tree
Oh la doundéne, oh la doundou...
The priest's daughter
To the wood was going
She met Michel
The one with the nice hat
"Hello my pretty one,
Where are you going by yourself? "
"I'm going to pick cherries
And take off my shirt! "
To hell with the fruit
And without making too much noise
They went behind the oak tree
Oh la doundéne, oh la doundou...

French Black / Folk / Heavy Metal. These guys sing in Gascon language of which I know nothing other than it has similarities to Catalan. Once again Atti brought me here - thank you so much 🖤. I am really looking forward to this & the exisiting track is intriguing to say the least! Highly recommended!!! bmurator

A Pagan black metal masterpiece.
Folk and black metal elements fuse into one extremely catchy and awe inspiring album. This band does not disappoint from all the high praise sent it's way. Abyssius Murkraken

Their take on folk-black metal is fine, but just like Eluveitie, I appear to prefer their stripped-down, acoustic approach. It's dark, yet playful and an ode to the great, Canadian north. gebs
